Hi guys, just a quick update and to apologize really for anyone that has been following my blog and saw ‘My Top 7’. Sadly last week I did not post and even thou I just started it, it will currently be on hold. As the picture says Watch this space.

Why?! You ask. The reason being I have recently just started a new job full-time which has been intense and fun but tiring also. None the less I plan to update you guys soon. Please hang tight, until my next post. I promise not to be too long.

~My Top 7~

-: 1 :- A Man Closet/cave- So women tend to own a lot of clothing and if your anything like my wife, lot’s of shoes. Now I came across this picture via Pinterest and it made me think I want one of those. An array of  designer shirts, shoes, t-shirts and best of all, shelves for those inspiring books, comic books, Vinyl art toys. Most may say, well basically it’s just a wardrobe but I say NO. It’s way more than that, it’s like a shrine for you. It’s a way for you to see all of the hard work you’ve done, and even a place to escape. No matter the size. Set-up this way, you could be in it for hours.

-: 2 :- Masks- It may appear strange at first to see this on the list but I actually love masks. They create mystery and an atmosphere. No matter what is going on, your always thinking who is behind that mask and that’s the beauty of them. Not to mention the obvious factor that there are many that look amazing. Whether it be that they are there to scare you, warn you or even entertain you. The message is always clear and usually no words need to even be said.

Shown in the picture is a Japanese Samurai mask, often used to protect and scare. My favorites consist of, the mask in the film ‘ V for Vendetta’, Batman and Joker’s clown mask in the Dark Knight.

-: 3 :- Chair Designs- This is one funky looking chair, the upholstery is a pop art/comic strip finished of with a black fancy gilded frame. It’s almost simple yet very effective. Me and my wife are currently on the search for a french provincial style sofa with the floral fancy gilded frame. So Chic. I have seen many cool items of furniture due to the fact that my Dad and Brother both run an Upholstery business back in the UK. I’ve seen chaise lounges, 60’s style chairs and Chesterfield sofas.  All of which I wish I had owned. If your ever in the area of Oxfordshire, England be sure to look up D W JONES Upholstery, they are a great team and recover and restore antique furniture as well as your everyday chair or sofa. Check them out.

-: 4 :- My Prints- I was a little skeptical of  whether I should add my work to the list but I figured there is nothing wrong with being proud of your own work. The featured photo is a part of a series called ‘Navy Pier’ and is available to buy. Mounted on foam board and soon wood.  The original print is quite large and of a square format with a white border. Various sizes will be available as well as other prints. Please be sure to check back, to see when the prints are available for purchase.

-: 5 :- The Bean- Chicago/Chi-Town hosts home to many different amazing architectural wonders and sculptures, one being the famous ’ Bean‘  with it’s mirrored appearance reflecting a 360 degree angle of the skyline and it’s surroundings. In particular this picture shows the ’ Bean ‘ at the height of winter when the snow has hit chicago. As this is going to be my first winter here, I am very intrigued to see how the city looks with the white blanket covering it. I was certainly taken by this image as the mirrored appearance of the ’ Bean ’ gives the white wonderland a magical touch. As I have been informed by many of the Chicagoan’s, I better wrap up warm, it’s going to be a very cold one.

-: 6 :- The Festive Spirit- As the 25th draws closer each day, I’m starting to feel festive. Drinking an Eggnog Chai Latte as mentioned in my previous post definitely has helped me with the Festive Spirit, not to mention the shop displays and the decorations. It’s an important Christmas for myself this year as it will be the first of many away from my Family back in the UK since the big leap over to the states. And also my first one with Rachel and her family which I am very excited for. I so badly want to get a fake tree and put it up in the house and decorate it, urban outfitters do some cool quirky decorations that we both like. As soon as the Christmas music is playing I will be fully converted over to Christmas and the fact of the huge white snow blanket on the ground. Very excited for it all.

-: 7 :-The Leica Camera- Various magazines and photography books that I have read through always seem to mention at least once the Leica Camera. Many great photographers have had the pleasure of using them throughout their career. One of my aspirations is to own one of these beautiful cameras and use it. So many people comment on the detail, the sharpness of the lens and the quality. In which, intrigues me. Downtown there is a camera store that has been operating since 1896 and has many old cameras and lens etc. They gave me the chance to look at one and have a feel for what it’s like. Wow, they sure are incredible. The design, the signature on the top of the camera and the finest quality lens. I asked him how much and he told me, I replied wow as he gave the price for the body and the lens. So yeah I plan on owning one, someday but I guess I better save a bit first.

~My Top 7~

A brief description of ‘My Top 7 ’ and what it’s all about. New to the blog, I’ve decided to feature each week ‘My Top 7 ’. Which will consist of my favorite inspiration, ranging from Clothing, Vinyl art toys, Food & Drink, Vintage Cameras etc.etc… You get the idea!

So this is a great chance to feature new people I come across and to just let you know what gets my brain ticking.

-:1:- Vintage Cameras- I absolutely with a passion love old camera’s and enjoy seeing the different designs. Some even still work in which I try my best to obtain film and get outside and shoot away, experimenting with the classic style. My favorite range at the moment would have to be the Polaroid camera’s.

I actually own a few and luckily own my prize SX-70’s which fascinate me a lot. Not forgetting the old school Kodak’s like the Box Brownie’s and the Six-20 ‘Kodak’ Junior fold out camera’s.

-:2:- Interior Design- ‘Home, Sweet, Home’, since recently joining Pinterest I have come across some amazing, Kitchen’s, Living Room’s, Bedroom’s with lavish furnishings and I have to say I am in awe of them all. I like the minimalistic look with the key features, one kitchen had the breakfast bar made from old reconditioned wood, showing all the grain etc and the bark edging. Looked gorgeous and also the beautiful natural wood colors of old fruit crates made into book cases. Genius!!! If you have a minute, go to Pinterest.com well worth it.

-:3:- Prints/Artwork- Bring a home to life and if your anything like me, capture the imagination. I have always been heavily into Graphic design and different styles of artwork and prints available to buy and view online. There are many talented artists all with that unique eye capturing style. The print in particular featured is by ‘Greg Abbott’, I love this print due to the simple use of color and the different styles of font, finished of with the statement “The World is Yours”. -:4:- Paris- Fluctuat nec mergitur (Latin: “It is tossed by the waves, but does not sink”) This is one place I have always been intrigued by but as of yet, have yet too see. Being a Photographer, Paris has always been on my list of city’s to visit and capture picturesque photos. Henri Cartier-Bresson managed to show me many different french street scenes which always made me want to be in Paris taking photos. I love the character I have seen in pictures, quaint decorative Coffee shops, the vintage architecture and not to forget the iconic ‘Eiffel Tower’. I think I’ve made my point. Paris is definitely on me and my wife Rachel’s list of places to visit.

-:5:- Eggnog Chai Latte- Scrumptious! I have never had Eggnog before, it’s not something I’ve heard talked about in the UK where I grew up. Nor am I a fan of Coffee, but the other day Rachel returned home with the ‘Eggnog Chai Latte’ and told me to try it. Wow, it blew my mind. I only have Hot Chocolate in my hot drinks list but now I can add Eggnog Chai Latte to the list. It has a sweet creamy taste and is definitely filling and a great addition for this time of year. Go try it out at Starbucks.

-:6:- Vinyl Art Toys- Now the Toy part, doesn’t mean that I’m a big kid that refuses to grow up, however more of an enthusiastic collector. I would definitely say their not made for playing with, but more to marvel over and display. If I had a huge room of my own I would have these displayed all around like an art gallery. There are loads and loads of different designs and styles done by all sorts of artists. Some of my favorites artists are Huck Gee with his Day & Night Raku Dunnys and also Buff Monster for his use of the color pink and his graffiti style. If this is the first time you have heard of these and like what you see and want a collection, go to KidRobot and you will be Amazed! The Vinyl featured is the ‘Sly Guy Red Panda’ by Jenn Bot .

-:7:- Wood&Faulk- This guy is a genius and incredibly talented, I spent nearly half a day looking over the whole site. I am hooked and an instant fan. The bag featured is called the the ‘North Westerner 16” Olive’, which I want! Made from #10 Martexin Original Wax, water-repellent canvas, with fine leather on the bottom, handles and straps. An Absolute perfect piece of kit to hold my vintage camera’s and photographic equipment. Check out his page, Wood&Faulk.

Yes as the picture states, as well as looks. I am currently under going some Remodeling of the blog as I have not put my full heart into it and also I felt it was still lacking that flare. So stay tuned for more interesting posts.
